About Us
Operation New Life is a non-profit organisation based in Ireland that is working with the government and people of Niger to provide medical assistance and supplies to the unfortunate young women in Niger who are suffering from Obstetric Fistula.
Founder Siobhan D'Arcy-Bewick, from Dublin first heard of the plight of these women in 2006. She travelled to Niger's capital city Niamey and learned about the condition and saw the conditions in which these women live when coming for treatment. She has travelled to Niger several times since, each time bringing much needed medical supplies to the doctors who are doing what they can to treat these women.
Siobhan has initiated a project to raise funds in Ireland to build a special hospital for the women. This will provide a dedicated facility for their pre- and post-operative care and will be the first of its kind in West Africa.
