Trip to Niger, October 2008

The index will go here.

We went to Niger in October 2008, with kindly donated medical supplies and gifts. You will see in the photos of the post-operative women with gift bags, which were provided by the girls from Holy Child School in Killiney, Co.Dublin.

The great news is that the President has donated a further site and small building to the project which puts us well on the road to achieving our goal of a 50-bed sustainable facility for the women. This building can house up to 10 beds. I visited the site whilst there with Dr. Abdullai in order to put further plans in motion.

This is a great start to 2009 though there is still alot of hard work required to raise money to complete this desperately needed build.

The other good news is that Dr. Abdullai Adrissa has been promoted by the President to the position of Chief Fistula Surgeon for the whole of Niger. This is a much deserved recognition of his unrelenting dedication and hard work.
