Update From Niamey
Supplies bought by Dr. Abdoulaye Idrissa (APCH) for conducting much needed Fistula surgeries. This new programme has seen Dr. Idrissa complete 24 Fistula repair surgeries.

Congratulations to Abdoulaye!
Since her first trip to Niger, Siobhan has had the height of admiration for Dr. Abdoulaye Idrissa. He is not only committed to helping the fistula women of Niger, but he works tirelessly ensuring they are never forgotten.
The great news is that Dr. Idrissa has now founded an NGO in Niger to help him continue his good work, which will create an easier and direct approach to those suffering. This will ensure that he can spread the word and achieve more locally.

Military Coup
Although the election was a success in Niger, the past couple of years have been challenging. Due to the military coup and political instability, and also kidnappings, ONL has been advised by the consulate not to travel to Niger.

Presidential Election in Niger
The 2011 Presidential Election has taken place peacefully. EU monitoring chief Santiago Fisas hailed the election as a "victory of the people of Niger", and added that "it is an example of how to come again to democracy in peace."
